IT park and office development, Navi Mumba

In April 2008, CapitaLand acquired an approximately 121,406 square metres (30 acres) of land in the Trans Thana Creek industrial area in Thana district, Navi Mumbai, India, to develop its first IT park and office development in India. The development will comprise approximately 2.5 million square feet of built-up space, where approximately 1.25 million square feet of space will be dedicated for IT companies.

This site, which is part of a larger 92-acre piece of land, is strategically located in Navi Mumbai, which is in the heart of the Mumbai-Pune “Knowledge Corridor”. Navi Mumbai sits astride the main highway from Mumbai to Pune and the rest of central and southern India, forming a part of the “Knowledge Corridor” that spans Mumbai and Pune. The Mumbai-Pune Knowledge Corridor is an initiative of the Government of Maharashtra to be a fast emerging IT hub of the country. Many large Indian companies have already relocated to Navi Mumbai.

The site enjoys excellent infrastructure and transport links which will be further enhanced by the proposed new international airport for Mumbai. Designed by world-renowned London based architects, Foreign Office Architects, the development is set to be a landmark development in India to offer world class facilities which will be highly sought after by multinationals and leading high-tech companies. It will also be one of the first major developments in Mumbai to feature environmentally sustainable commercial space.

The development is currently under planning.

This development is CapitaLand’s third partnership with Arcapita in real estate ventures. Previous successful ventures include Raffles City Bahrain at Bahrain Bay in Manama and ARCCapitaLand Residences Japan, a company investing in a portfolio of rental apartments in key cities in Japan. Together with our valued partner Arcapita, CapitaLand will be able to capitalise on the fast-growing Indian economy and grow its footprint in India.
